Just another day in the life

Ash was off to work again today so I hung out relaxing and crocheting until she texted me she was going to be done early. I readied and started walking down, once again loving the Jelly Bean houses along the way

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/35246886/files/2014/12/img_5400.jpgWe met up part way and wandered our way through cool little stores picking up some souvenirs and momentos

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/35246886/files/2014/12/img_5401.jpgOur lunch stop was at YellowBelly Brewery where I tried the Flight of in house beer and the Best appy ever, deep fried dill pickles

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/35246886/files/2014/12/img_5416.jpgThere were interesting treasures in the stores

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/35246886/files/2014/12/img_5419.jpgand art that I wish to take home

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/35246886/files/2014/12/img_5422.jpgFrom there we wandered up to Christians as Ash had heard they had the best Screech in. It is usually after 11 but as we arrived at 4:45 we found out there was one at 5 and they took us in. Ash has done many in her job but never been made official herself. I handed my phone off to a stranger next to us who took video of it all and Brian the owner even included Louise in the festivities.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/35246886/files/2014/12/img_5439.jpgWe were aiming to end up at Erin’s for live music and went to move the car closer from where we had left it last night. Unfortunately a light had been left on but it was BCAA to the rescue!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/c94/35246886/files/2014/12/img_5440.jpgAsh waited across the street with my card for them while I walked a Km or so down to Erin’s to get the tickets for she, Nancy and I for New Years. I arrived to find it mostly empty except for Graham and the musician who had just finished and his Dad. The Dad asked me ‘where you to?’ And it took me a minute to realize he meant where you from. I’m learning. Graham walked me back to the car and came for a drive with us to charge the car as it had been jumped. We then stopped again at Erin’s as there was supposed to be a female singer and band. We waited well over an hour and they were having sound issues so finally left with apologies. It has been softly snowing most of the day much to my pleasure

On our BC license plate there are two options, the old school ones I love say Beautiful British Columbia and the new ones say The Best Place on Earth. I don’t like the second ones as I find them rather vain. One thing I can say is Newfoundlanders act as though this is the best place on earth and want everyone to enjoy it too in a wonderful humble way.
