08-29-22 wow, that was a full day!
I forgot to set my alarm in the midst of dealing with my guests last night but was grateful they made noise as I was coming awake at 7:45. I had a nice visit as we were all getting ready to get on with our day and then we all headed our own way. They asked if they could have my phone number in case they ran into any trouble and of course I said yes. They had not had the ultimate experience in the US and I wanted their Canadian time to go smoothly.
The day was FULL. Much to do getting ready for PeakFest this coming weekend and The Bud Abbott celebration the following. I am the emcee and Director/ site help for the first and then Stage manager/emcee for the latter. There are many balls in the air at the moment but I rely on the knowledge that it will all be over soon.
When I arrived at the office there were 3 bucks in the backyard/garden of the house behind. Unusual to see so many together. One had a wounded antler and that was gross.
I spent as much time as I had on the last file I need to get done for the month and left work around 9. Came home to have a bevie with the neighbour and had to get between a Doe and her two fawns as the babes had gotten into my yard. I was able to scare them out and send them on their way. They are a real nuisance right now and it may be time for a cull again.
I am really looking forward to the weekend and just hope it all comes together as most festivals do. The point will be to make sure the audience and performers don’t know the chaos that leads up to it all. It is the norm but we also know the areas we need to improve if we are to do this again and will have to discuss it all at the Board level.
Now, I shall try to wind down and get some sleep as tomorrow is also a busy one. Good night!
