11-16-22 A Ferret Found Us
Today was very productive! Got so much done at the office even if it had some very frustrating moments. When it was time to head to Arby’s the snow had started to fall. I had a good night at work, the team was awesome, two of the five of us being my daughter Ashlée and my grandson Gene. One of the best parts was a sports team from Fernie who stopped for food for the road. It was challenging as their phones wouldn’t work for the debit machine but they helped each other out and when they left, they lined up like they were shaking hands after a game and each of them rang the bell loudly as they filtered out, signifying great service. Made my day! Simple pleasures my friends, the trick is to find joy in everything you do. I love when people laugh and engage when I warn them that the floor is wet when I am mopping. I tell them not to die on my shift, lol.

By the time we came out at 9, the car was very covered in snow. I drove Stu and Gene home and by then Rae-Anne was there and we went for a walk in the snow up the block. We met up with her Dad out leaf blowing the snow off the sidewalk. Yes, that is how light our snow is!
Then things got exciting as a ferret ran up Ashlée’s leg when she got out of her car. It ran away but as we were standing there talking it came back to us and then got off the snow by going into the kids play house where it easily let Gene pick it up. They put it into a cat carrier and fed it dog kibble, settling it by the fireplace. It appeared starving and shivering. I posted on the Cranbrook page and the Lost and Found Pets one as well. So many people are caring about it, it’s amazing. If only we needed another pet! I hope the owner reaches out soon.

Got home finally and shoveled. At least it is light and didn’t take long.
