Just another day in the life

11-17-22 His name is Sid!

November 17, 2022

I had to roll over and turn off my phone volume last night as I had forgotten and my phone was blowing up with messages about the ferret. So many people cared, it was amazing. I had posted on the Cranbrook Facebook page and the lost pets one. It was shared and shared and so many people offered advice and supplies, fostering and homes, and tagged people who’s it may be. In the morning I received a message from the owner who wouldn’t be available until noon to pick him up. His name is Sid and she has struggled to be a good pet Mama and said she would consider rehoming him but didn’t even know where to start. Last night a woman had private messaged me offering food, advice and a home if needed. I connected her and the owner and Rae-Anne. The thing that got me jumping out of bed and on my way was hearing the snow plow. I realized it would be the first morning that I had to shovel before leaving. On the way to work I stopped at Arby’s to drop off a clean shirt as I had borrowed someone’s last night. Rae-Anne was arriving as I was leaving and we popped next door to Dairy Queen where she bought me a surprisingly delicious breakfast. We get a discount there as Arby’s staff and it was very affordable as well! It was a short visit as Ashlée needed assistance before their Shift Manager meeting. I stopped at Kootenay Winecrafters and took advantage of the 15% off coupon they gave me on my first batch that expires at the end of the month. Doing it now also makes it ready before Christmas. I put down Raspberry Peach Sangria. It worked out to under $4 a bottle! Next stop was the Guedes household to pick up Sid. I agreed to bring him to the office and arrange the pick up. He is just so darn cute. I realized he may be thirsty and he drank a bowl of water. He was a big hit at the office for all but one who doesn’t do ‘rodents’, lol. There were many messages over the day making arranges for the owner to transfer Sid off to the woman from Kimberley who has 2 males and 2 females. It will be good for Sid. When the owner came to pick him up to meet the new owner we had an amazing visit and talk about the damaging effects of life on an empath. I do know that the decision to give up Sid was a hard one but best for all.

The day was glorious, Fall in the Kootenays can be so fabulous.

It was another of those November workdays, so many files to jump around between. Still have much to do but plan to work this weekend as well. I was finally just too tired to keep going so I dropped of the carrier to the kids and headed home. I made a delicious dinner and sat on the couch for the evening for the first time all week. Here it is just after 9 and I am heading to bed soon. A good long sleep will get me through the crazy of tomorrow’s calendar.
