11-19-22 Arby’s, all day
Felt ok but had a runny nose this morning and a bit of a sore throat, so I took a day time cold and flu pill which cleared it up. Showed up for the 11-2:30 shift I was covering for Gene and worked my tail off until 4:30. It was a great crew, working our tails off on what turned out to be the busiest day of the month so far. I had a blast but need to remember to drink water as my lips were burning from dehydration by the end of my shift. I mostly worked the drive thru, taking payments and handing out food. So much joking and honestly, inspiring smiles, which is the goal at Arby’s. Rae-Anne is really sick and it was awesome how everyone on the team stepped in to get things done. I love seeing the owners wives pitch in when it gets crazy as well.
It was crazy cold today, minus 20 when I got up at 8 and the same now at nearly 11pm. The bonus is that it was sunny and gorgeous. I stopped for gas after work as I was nearly out and it was down to 1.69 a Litre, down from 1.859 the day before.
This evening I started to fade out and had a hockey game to go to so I wore a mask and was careful. I hope this heaviness in my chest and catch in my throat goes away soon as it has been a long time since I’ve been sick and I don’t usually feel this way until February! It was fun for numerous reasons at the game. It was Turkey Day, where Steve raced Stagger to score for $500 donated by the Bucks to the Chamber Turkey Drive, there was the Arby’s minute, where if the Buck’s scored everyone got free curly fries. The guy standing up behind us was yelling loudly, Curly Fries, Curly Fries. No luck though.

Made some poutine at home before the game and enjoyed a mulled wine while I was there which both helped.
