07-17-23 Strike Day and Payroll
I stayed up until after 4 am, sorting my totes and visiting with Peter from the PAW crew. I was still pretty wound up from the blow out with Ash as she had been terribly overworked due to us being short two HQ crew, the backbone of it all. She stepped up beyond her poor body and brain’s ability to. In the morning, after 4 hours sleep, I was back up to meet the crew who showed up to help and finish taking down the lights and tent decor. Ash got up and we had a good cry and hug and I reassured her that i could not possibly have done it if I hadn’t had her. She makes it possible for me to go do all the stage stuff without worrying about Lock-up. It was hard on us both not to see more of the fest but I am more used to it. I can run on little food and sleep while I do what I have to do. Once everything was done it was time to make a bunch of good-byes to crew and get settled down to once again do payroll. This was a tough year for where the dates ended up, adding a lot to my plate

We who were left at the end of the night gathered to celebrate Tiny’s birthday and have some beverages and chat.

I chose not to stay too late as I had to pack up my dirty camp and hit the road the next morning.
