01-25-24 She’s Free
This morning I went to the office and got quite a bit done before heading to Rotary to be inducted along with a lovely group of others. It was a nice time and kind words and big handshakes of welcome occurred. After that was a staff meeting for one of my clients which I was asked to attend as the boss is taking a working vacation for a month and wanted everyone to be in the loop. This is of course causing some chaos.

I was barely back at the desk when I saw the post from Vic’s husband that she was gone as of this morning, on day 938 of her fight with ovarian cancer. She did her video on day 925 and I suspect saved it until it was the day before it was too late to communicate and no one could talk her out of her choice. She was brave and loving to the end.
I worked until I got to a point that tomorrow won’t be too overwhelming. Once home, I made dinner and then connected with Zoom to the VIMF coordinators meeting in Courtenay. All the deadlines have moved earlier this year and it has complicated things for me but it was good to see faces and hear voices.

I spent the rest of the evening drinking Jam Jam Sour, eating hedgehogs, watching my Chicago shows and finishing my puzzle. I think I can sleep soon, so off I go. Two more sleeps…
