12-27-24 Ankle Upgrade
I was up fairly early.
I made a big batch of Nuts & Bolts
I washed the mountain of pots and pans and glassware and dishes while young Sawyer dried and put away
I got the call around 10 to come to hospital for 2
I had my last cigarette
I was able to get in and out of bath and dress, all by myself for the first time since accident
I worked on the group puzzle to distract myself
I was driven to the hospital and settled in by Bill, my first husband. He is a good man
I was happy to see Paula in her scrubs, but it was the end of her shift.
I met the anesthesiologist, the nurses and the surgeon, Dr Vaile. An amazing team of powerful women!
I came out of anesthesia in a full blown panic attack
I was calmed by the fact that Paula was there holding my hand.
I was grateful that Rae-Anne showed up and stayed until I was ok to leave
I found out that my blood pressure spiked to 210/151 while still under and have been told to follow up with my GP
I laughed with the nurse about the fact that I was wearing the prettiest underwear she’d seen in a surgical ward… thanks Victoria Secret
I laughed harder when shown a picture to back up the explanation that my throat was sore because they put a vagina down it.
I enjoyed leftover pasta that had been set aside for me.
I was frustrated for the second time today by my eldest grandson.
I am waiting in the dark crying (can’t figure out how to turn on light) until I can get all these feelings out and also take another Tramadol.
