10-16-26 Opening Night
Today was pretty chill. I did go into work to do the payroll that I need to do and work on the individual cards that I wanted to give to my classmates and the crew.
I picked up a lovely bouquet for the director Amy and it smelled so amazing in my office. it also made me laugh that the box they put the arrangement in had Amy’s on it as it was for Amy.
I met everyone early and got them to sign the card for her that I made and then we got down to group running of lines and warm-ups. I had a headache coming on and I suspect it was because I had not drank enough water. But the magic of Theatre allowed me to push it aside and be the best Mrs. Borden I could be tonight.
There was a gala afterwards with an incredible cake made of cupcakes and an assortment of snacks, which was good because I can’t eat right before the show. Rae-Anne and Gene came to the show. One thing I know is Rae will always tell me the truth and she was blown away by my performance and Tinna’s and hopes that future directors and producers will see that we should be in a show together.
Honestly, it’s not even humble bragging. I was blown away by the people who gave me deep and wonderful comments about my performance. I did laugh and say well my resting bitch face came in handy for the show. Honestly, though I know the difference that they were seeing is that Tinna and I both method act. We become the person instead of just say the lines.
Overall, the show went very well, and I will encourage everyone to continue feeling nervous to the point of running lines before each show so that our energy is up and we give each audience the same gift.
